I'm looking to spend about $300-$400 on a pair of waders, and I'm wondering if there is any difference between the various manufacturers such as Simms, Hodgman, Cabelas, Columbia, etc.

Thanks in advance.

I purchased the Cabelas Gortex Waders 2 years ago and have been very happy with them, less than $300.

Been a while since i've bought waders. I think it's a combination of not fishing as much and the waders i got last time, Bare, made in Canada, i believe. They had the best sizing chart i've seen, better than many others custom waders, and they custom build them if you want an even better fit.

Just my :twocents:, I have owned 2 pairs of the Simms stocking foot L2 goretex waders over the last 6 years. While they are not a beefy as the $400+ Simms guidweights, they are about half the price. In otherwords you could fish the crap out of 1 pair, then buy another in 3-4 years.

Sometimes the event that ultimately destroys your waders would destroy any pair, regardless of price. Think Dogs, roadways, and falling on your butt on lava rock.

I'm a starving student though, so a couple hundred $ is a big deal.
