Just looking to chat with anyone who has done this himself. Looking to avoid any mistakes if possible.

hello, I've install these often. do you have the right part# and for most applications you should use an ARS-5 regulator. keep the regulator away from the distributor. because of the output you will need to increase the output conductor, do not use the factory harness add circuit protection. also be aware that some models are ground isolated and you will need to add a ground conductor that ends at a ground buss. you should do this regardless. read the regulator instructions carefully. its like looking at a treasure map.
80 to 100 amp hot rated output will handle 200 to 400 amp hours of batteries.
you will want to add the alt temp sensor and battery temp sensor, these are important.
let us know what engine and alt you have along with the amp hours.
