I have finally narrowed my choices and decided on getting a Chesapeake Bay Retriever. I am not too picky about absolute pure/pedigree bloodlines and would even be interested in a CBR/Lab or possible other cross. I would prefer a female (I plan to have it spayed for those concerned people out there :D) Also I would like a puppy so I can do all the training, but will not rule out a young dog or young rescued dog. I am not looking to spend a fortune, as I have already price some purebred puppies at $750-$1000. I would prefer to stay under $500 for a purebred and under $200 for a mixed breed.

Please PM me or reply if you have any or know of any available puppies!

:excited:

Is this what you're looking for?

Why should anyone care if you breed "your" dog. I bred my papered but unregistered Cheasapeake when she was 3 and 4. Made her the best friend and hunting partner I ever had or will ever have. 12 pups each time, gave the 1st batch away, sold the 2nd batch for $50 each to cover shots and grub.
Everyone was delighted whether they hunted them or house dogs. I'll do it again with my next one, but don't hold your breath it won't be for awhile.
Didn't do much steelhead fishing when I had her, every weekend we were either jump shooting or sitting over decoys. No matter what the weather every Thanksgiving or Christmas afternoon we'd load up a get her at least one duck. Besides me, that was what she loved most was ducks and water.
If possible I'd find a good male and at least have 1 batch of pups, you'll enjoy it at much as she will. :twocents:

I don't, I just wrote it to keep the purists from getting excited about breeding mutts. It is such a touchy subject to some, I wanted to clarify. Maybe I should have never brought it up.

Sounds like I could use one of your puppies! Let me know of any you know about!

Keep my ears open, anything to keep you off the water for 12 to 14 years. LOL
