Hit the pond today for about an hour, figured the warm spell might turn on a bite. Stocked 2 weeks ago, so expectations were low. About 20 minutes into it, my Kastmaster stops cold, then starts running the other way! The fish rolled about 20 feet in front of me, showing bright sides and some shoulders. With 4lb test I took it easy on her, but slid her up the bank a few minutes later. Measured at 17", guessing about 2-3lbs. My lure had been swallowed whole, the treble buried in the gill rakes so I kept her (bleeding pretty bad). Made for a fun day, felt like a steelhead on my 7' ultralight with 4lb. Saw brooders rolling and one small keeper caught, but that was it. Nice day on the pond!
