While I'm thinking about winter boating ... does anyone do anything special with their gas for winter? Ever worry about bilge water freezing? What about moisture in the gauges?

Hi, Pete. Fill it clear full to minimize the air volume. Air holds moisture that will condense and end up in your fuel. Also Sta-bil is a good thing to add to the fuel when you top it off.
Best results are had by using fresh fuel and adding the Sta-bil then. It won't do much for old fuel.
Freeze ups are only bad in a confined space like an engine block. Water expands when it changes from liquid to solid. Frozen bilges can block the drain holes and might make it hard to put the plug in when you launch it.
An ordinary incandescent lamp will dry out the gauges. 100 w gives enough heat. Just not too close or you'll burn something. Have you ever noticed the boats on moorage at Garibaldi with lights on all night? Alot of boaters use this method to keep the interior of their boat dry.
