As of 8 this morning, few iFishers had even opened Kiwanda Kid's post regarding the need for folks to help give free life jackets to kids at "the Show", and only a few have responded. We're all busy, and at first glance, VOLUNTEER doesn't sound quite as appealing as FREE FOOD, so I thought I'd see if more people would at least read the post, and maybe sign up.............. Sorry for the cheap hook, I just couldn't resist! So they use bait... but only because it works! Who's got some time for the kids? You really do get free food and a free ticket, but there are much better reasons to help out:throb:.
Here's another thought. I just asked our German exchange student (who JUMPED at the idea) and our 18 year old son ("what??? Daaad, I don't know, I might be busy hanging out with my buddies") to join me. They will have something very nice to put on their resume', but more importantly will be spending some time "giving back" -- a priceless lesson. Got any teens to mentor? Little kids LOVE teenstrangers.
