So I check my email this afternoon, and get a message saying that all addy's are being verified. Fair enough! But then I came in HERE...and read a message that threatened to have my account terminated should I offend anyone. Although I mainly lurk, I HAVE had 2 separate posts "dissapear" when simply passing on info from "MY" perspective, with no foul language, name calling..etc. Just pure INFORMATION, straight from the source. Being in the position I am..I can ill afford legal repurcussions for stating my opinion/facts. I have enjoyed this site for quite a while, and it has been a daily stop to relax at. Thank You very much, Jennie. But, based on potential repercussions that have been threatened, I respectfully request that ALL of my information be deleted from your database. As the two prior posts that disappeared simply answered law enforcement questions from the Coast Guard perspective..I feel this one will be short lived. God Bless All...and God Bless America!!! We have more important fights at the moment!!!

I agree with you Mr. Torchman. The adminstration new rules and actions are too much! This place will still be good for fishing anouncements and that type of thing. The thing that cracks me up is 99% of the time when someone anounces they are leaving, within a few days they show up again. Talk about making yourself look stupid.

I don't think we're gonna see much change in the fishing posts or the way the board is run ... the guidelines haven't changed. The whole point is to talk about fishing and fishing related stuff on a fishing related bulletin board. Maybe a little less grousing and sniping ... wait, that's hunting talk, there's a place for that. I'm here for the fishing, though. I've taken a week off to try to eat some space into my freezer, but I'm off to get some of those big November TBay fish this week and a slow transition to Mr. Diamondsides before I work over the steelhead runs. I wonder if they'll be as magnificent as salmon fishing has been for the last 4 or 5 months!

OK people, I'm new here so forgive me for butting in, but I understand the situation. I run a few boards (not fishing related) similar to this one. It takes alot of time and effort to keep it running, not including the funds required for the webspace and bandwidth (of which, this site looks like it uses alot).

Our membership policies are tighter than Jennie's but our members don't mind because of the problems we had prior. We had flamers, verbal wars, harassment, etc. It was simple abuse. We tighten our rules and kicked people out AFTER numerous warnings. If they kept up after that, then we got serious.

Yes, its only fishing, but to some it is much more. Take that into consideration when you post. Read your post PRIOR to submitting it. Ask yourself... Would I be offended if this were directed at me? Does it sound harsh? If the answer is "yes", then either edit it or hold your tougue. Emotions are hard to discern through text. Try to keep a friendly enviroment, an open sharing of information. Jokes and friendly banter are welcome, but if someone takes offense, remove it. Not all of us are thick skinned and it takes awhile to understand where the "line" is and how not to cross it.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Come on guys, if your going to go- GO!!,All Jennie is trying to do is keep the board decent.Whats wrong with that ??.There's no need to berate or rank someone or call them names or curse them.Yes this board is a puplic forum and as such there will be a differance in opinion's and yes topics will be brought up that are not fishing related that's life.I haven't seen her or the mod's condemn anyone for that.Somepeople tho would go out of there way to cause proplems if they didn't get things there way.Then they would go over to Bob's board and snivel and whine and bad mouth the mod's and Jennie,then come back over here like nothing has happened.I believe if there is a proplem on this board that it should stay here and be solved here not badmouthed someplace else.

thats how I found this board a year ago,I've met some of the people here and hope to meet more.I've been here ever since.I just started going back to bob's board a couple weeks ago when a friend of mine told me about some sniveling whiner badmouthing this one.I couldn't believe it when I found out who it was,what a disapointment.Anyway if that person starts up over there like he did here those guys will cut him up and spit him out in no time.Bob has already told them to knock it off.So anyway yes this is a fishing board but a little off the subject is not going to bring the wrath of the mod's or Jennie on you,they just want us to keep it clean.
