FEAR NO FISH!
10-26-2001, 05:59 AM
We were among approx. 13 boats tonight
at the Dam. We started trolling around
9:30pm. I had my fishing partner Gary
with me. At 10:30 I hooked and landed
a bright 8 pound steelie. Remember how
I said it was like fishing on a lake,
please forgive me. When we got there
it was like a millpond. By 11:00 pm a
Noreaster started to blow. It turned
the forebay into a seething maelstrom.
I don't know where the wind came from.
It definitely wasn't forecast. It
cleared everybody off but us. I went
directly from the electric to the 150
hp pump. It actually got scary as the
wind was blowing straight into the
wingwall and making the waves stack
up. Suddenly it died. We were coming
back towards the dam and Gary had just
put out. He was just about to place
his rod into the holder when POW! FISH
ON! He scored another 36 inch Ike.
Within seconds of landing that fish,
the GALE started back up. Never saw
anything like it. We put the boat back
on the trailer and sat and watched the
dock, darn near breakup. It looked
like it was having a severe
earthquake. We will be back tonight to
get vengence on you steelies! images/icons/shocked.gif

FNF,
I was on the shore at Wallula Jct. yesterday morning. The only thing happening there was the wind. I left after an hour.

Does the wind ever, not blow on the Columbia?

F.N.F.,

Have you looked at the number of steelhead crossing The Dalles and John Day dams the last couple of days?? Incredible!!! I'm sure when you get back out there on the water there will be plenty of fish to catch. images/icons/grin.gif
