Well not to much in the bay that I saw around the corral. I saw about 10 fish or so on from about 8:00 until 10:00.
Then I went up the Wilson saw 6 boats and one had 2 fish, another came into the hole I was in and spanked 6 fish plus lost a few others in about 1.5 hours. Now I wish I could figure out what kind of cure he was using on his eggs. I was using Tillamook Bait company eggs boy was I disapointed.
I think that $18 dollars per pint is a little steep in price. What is your opinion?
The one boat with 2 fish said that every bite he had was right after he used some of Maries shrimp scent. I tried that as well no luck. I had my eggs next to the boat that caught 6 eggs. Almost every cast that boat would have a take down. That is not an exaggeration. I was kind of embarrasing lesson that I learned.

Too many variables to blame it just on the eggs. Your scent on the best eggs can put them off the bite. Bobber depth...?

Very good advice I was way ahead of those issues today. I had surgical gloves on and I had the same depths and hook size and leader size the only thing different was the bait. At times our bobbers were 2 feet apart and there bobber would go down, all I would get was mud cat bites.

Talons~~ I agree with mojo on this one. I was fishing a coastal river today with a buddy of mine today. We were fishing the same bait, same depth, same everything and in one hole he hooked 6 in a row to my zero. We went to a different hole and I got 4 to his one. Also I happen to know that marie puts out eggs that catch fish. Sometimes it is how you hold your mouth. Keep fishing and cover all the water, not just the water you think that the fish are in. Sometimes the difference in a 1oz. bobber setup and a 2oz. setup makes a difference ( speed the bait is going through the hole past the fish). Stuff like this makes a difference.Good luck images/icons/smile.gif John

Yip! Marie's eggs are gorgeous, and yip, they catch fish! Haven't been fishing much this week. This pic was taken last year, when I was using exclusively, Marie's eggs. I caught a bunch of fish last year!!!

18 bucks a pint is pretty spendy. Have you considered buying fresh eggs and curing yourself? Seems like that would be more economical. You can find sources of fresh eggs here on ifish... Joe

Try buying your eggs from Carol's bait porch. She is located on the same street as the fairgrounds directly across from the Franz Bakery outlet store. They are much more reasonably priced. They are also very good fresh eggs of high quality which I have used and caught many fish on. She is open 7 days a week at 5 AM. images/icons/smile.gif

Marie's eggs and shrimp scent are great. I've used them for afew years now with many successful days of fishing. I try to at least have one jar of Marie's eggs and one bottle of Marie's shrimp scent per fishing trip. One day this year I hooked 13 chinooks on Maries eggs, sandshrimp, and shrimp scent.
I used to go to The Guide Shop for coastal fishing stuff the most, now I've switched to Marie's.
God Bless

Ok,
I guess it is time to explaine my comments. FIrst of all I never said that Maries eggs were bad or that they could not catch fish. I merely stated that on that paticular day when fished side by side the same way as somebody elses eggs (I believe the guy was Fritz Hill) Maries eggs did not produce at that time in that hole on that tide. As you know that will change in 20 minutes or on the next tide.
Secondly I merly asked your opinion on the price of the eggs. I never stated that they were not worth it only that in my opinion the price was a little steep. Plain and simple. Now I understand that you ask a price for a product and if the market will bear that price so be it. That still may not be in check with everybodys opinion.
When I was younger and I commercial fished out of Garabaldi and other ports I recall selling my eggs to the canneries for 25 to 45 cents a pound. This was also included with my thought process when I formed my opinion.
Marie I am not saying that I will not be back or that I will not use your eggs again. Just merly that on the day I fished that your eggs were just not the ticket for me.
Now that this has been explained don't we have some fishing to do? And for some some catching?

Okay, to defend my prices, I gotta tell you that "THAT" price reflects premium eggs in a vacuum sealed jar.
If you want a cheaper egg don't get a vacuum sealed jar, buy a smaller cup.
I have prices to fit everyones pocket book. I work with each individual person and give him or her what they can afford.
What other Bait Shop will do that?
I tell you I work with people..
And thats why they come back to me.
Thanks for your support,

Marie, I would like to try your eggs. Price is not usually an issue with me if I get what I pay for. When do you open in the morning and exactly where are you located.
Thanks
