I like the way this one came out. Used some old skool colors that I have not wrapped since I was about 14. Super clean and nice and tight the way it should be done. Now I just have to hope nobody wants to buy this at the show in May so I can fish it myself.

Thanks Grady.
I'm trying to make all my rods as perfect as can be. There is going to be a lot of competition at the show in May and I dont want to be to embarrased when I get there.
Are you going??
Just started a 700H and I think I am going to do an 8 sided wrap on it. Should be pretty cool looking when it is done.

No, I will not be in the show, I am not in that league..... Maybe someday with practice.....
Unlike you, I would be embarrassed if I went as a competitor. I can only read and copy what others have done up to this point. Doc Ski's tutorial for Tiger wrap, and conversations with Scott Throop on marbelling..... lots of questions on rodbuilding.org.
It would be cool to go just to see all the awesome art. Every rod is still an experiment to me.....
Good Luck at the show!

Rooster,
Another quick question.... the Orange underwrap is very vivid and has great color.
I recently did one with Guderbrod #221 Orange "A" thread and I was afraid the line would go translucent and show the black blank, so I used CP, but the color was not as brilliant as it should be. Do you coat the rod with white paint under the wrap, or double wrap to get the color?
I was reading that some people actually put a white base, so the color is more vibrant.
Thanks for any input.
