Hello,
Pretty new to the area and would like to benefit from some local experience. Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Blake

Chris O'Donnell does fly fishing trips on the N. coast in winter. I fished with him on the Deschutes last fall and thought he did a good job.

Another vote for Chris O'Donnell. He's not a site sponsor, so I can't post a link, but you can find him by googling Adventures in Fly Fishing. I've also heard good things about Chris's partner, John Bracke.

The Skagit boys, Scott O'donnell and Mike McCune guide on the North Coast. Why not fish with a Jedi!
I have fished with Rich Youngers on the Nestucca and had a blast. We caught fish too. I highly recommend him.

I agree Mike, I went with Chris two years ago on the Deschutes, and he is a very nice guy, and he knew what he was doing. I have not fished with him on the coast yet, but plan to.

Jeff Jackson of Action Jackson Guide Service out of Mapleton has great local knowledge of the central coast...if that is not too far south for ya.

Thanks for all the recommendations. Based on input from River City we're booked with Adam McNamara at Castaway Guide Service, heading out this Thursday. I'm pretty pumped. I'll post with a trip report and hopefully some pics if something jumps on my hook!
Thanks again,
Blake

Sorry for the delayed post.
Adam did a great job. We floated the lower Trask and the water looked perfect. It had been low for some time. We were drifting nymphs and would pull over to swing sections with spey setups. We both had a crack while swinging, but came up empty handed. We did pull in a few cutthroat. Adam was patient, kept us fishing the whole day and was a good instructor. Definitely would pass along a recommendation!
'Til the next time ,
Blake
