My granda used to make a killer clam dip! Oooh! I just remembered that. Darn it, the recipe is gone with her!

For onion dip, get a box of Onion Lipton Soup mix (the dry stuff) and follow the package direction. I think it's one envelope to a pint of sour cream, then chill 2 hours. Doesn't get any easier than that.

We use one pkt. Mrs. Grass Onion Soup mix to one pint sour cream. Mix and refrigerate a few hours before to let the flavors blend and the onions rehydrate.

My wife makes clam dip using:
One-pint sour cream
1 sm. can coarsely chopped canned clams, drained lightly.
A few shakes of Worcestershire sauce (to taste)
Garlic salt - maybe a 1/4 tsp
black pepper - to taste

Taste and adjust if necessary

Bar none best clam dip on planet.

3 ) 8 oz packages cream cheese
3 ) cans minced clams {with juice}
1/4 cup grated yellow onion
3 cloves finely minced garlic
about 1 1/2 tablespoons worchestshire sauce.

Mix cream cheese ( I use my kitchen aid.. it saves the arm) til soft.. add 1 1/2 cans of drained clam juice ( just leave the lid on the can and drain into the cream cheese.. it makes it easier to get a smooth consistency. after it is mixed add onion & garlic and worchestshire sauce... last add clams.. refridgerate overnight.(melds and gets better):excited:

I got this recipe from my Mom a few years back. It's the original Kraft Clam Dip recipe that came out in the 70's.

1 clove garlic, cut in half

8oz can minced clams, drained and a quarter of liquid reserved
8oz pkg cream cheese, softened
2 tsp lemon juice
1-1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
dash of pepper

Rub mixing bowl with garlic halves. Combine remaining ingredients, mix until well blended. Chill

I have had many complements over this dip. It is one of the best dips ever.

1cup cream cheese room temp
½cup sour cream
2 Tsp Lemon Juice
1 Small clove of garlic finely minced or crushed.
1 ½ Tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ Tsp Salt
2 -4 Tbsp Clam Juice
5-7 Oz Clams fresh or canned
1 Green onion chopped finely or Red onion
¼ Tsp Dry Mustard
½ Tsp Paprika
½ Tsp onion salt

You can add these if it sounds good or omit any of the above.
Few drops of Tabasco to taste, bacon bits or bacon

Drain the clams in a strainer, reserving the liquid.
Put the cream cheese & sour cream in a medium-size bowl. Worcestershire, lemon juice, garlic powder and onion salt.blend well (the mixture will be stiff.)Stir in the clams by hand .
Gradually add clam juice (about 2 tablespoons at a time) until the dip has the consistency you want. The dip gets much of it's flavor from the juice rather than the clams, so don't be afraid to add a bit too much. But don't make it runny. If you do add more cream cheese.

Guaranteed you will eat half before you get it put away in the fridge.

Let it set up for a few hours and serve.
