Has anybody fished the Lewis lately, shouldn't the B-run be here by now ??
I've heard that its not worth fishing now,I was planing to go up there fishing next week.I went to the Naselle last wed. bobber fishing with a friend we caught between us 18 fish(I only caught 7) and out of all those fish only two decent one's the rest were way to dark.I did catch one hen about 30lbs but she was way to dark to keep. There are fish dying in the lower river right now its a good thing we got this rain maybe now they can get up the river.I saw one silver caught below us on a bud's spinner that was the only silver we saw in the 6 hrs we were there.

Bob, We went up to the Lewis on Thursday. We found the water still very low. Also when trying to launch at the golf course we found that the beavers fell a tree across from the bank to the gravel bar. Only real shallow drafting boats could make it over. It might be removed by now. We did talk to one boat that came in. They had been fishing all morning and caught about 9 jacks. They said there were quite a few fish in the river but they were hard to get to bite. The other problem is that the flow in the river below Merwin Dam is only 2040 cfs.
If you do get up there will let me know how you do.

Got Fish?

Last week on Sunday we were at the Cedar Creek hole in out drift boat and saw a fair number of bright fish moving through but no biters. The only fish we got to bite was about a 25 lbs. chinook buck that was the darkest thing you've ever seen, it hit a spinner with the wrong end. We managed to land the fish on 8 lbs. test and get the spinner back but the fish went back in the water.
I'm heading up there tomarrow (Sunday) with my little bro. and his friend. I'm hoping the water has come up a bit.

He is a site someone gave me that gives the water flows at various rivers... http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/Portland/public_hydro/lc_swwa.html

Good Luck

A friend of mine was fishing at the hatchery
Fri. for about 5 hrs. never caught a fish and never saw one caught, he did see some dark fish rolling and that was it !!!,that B-run has to show up pretty soon unless the netters got them.I went up to the Naselle
a few days ago you wouldn't belive how many gillnet boats were out in the river. There selling salmon for a dollar a lb. in longview
They can't last much longer if there selling fish that cheap they must be desperate.I HOPE !!

I was there on Sat. morning for a couple of hours. Saw one boat that had one hanging in the water. Saw one hooked on the south side of the river across from the hatchery. Didn't see if it was landed. A lot of dark fish still in there. Not many rolling or biting. Looking forward to seeing the "B" run sometime soon. images/icons/smile.gif
