A buddy and myself are heading down friday and have not fished this fishery before. Just wondering if anyone could help with some of the basics like which boat launch to use, where it is and any specific tactics that work well here. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Try the Shao-lin (Kung Fu) school of bank fishing. You will need some extra patience grasshopper. That's a nasty bunch in PC. They will know its your first rodeo and close in on you like jackals.

In a boat? Same deal. The boat ramp is particularly entertaining.

Go ahead and try it Salmonfly but take some Prozac first.

Putin next to the tackle shop just on the other side of the public restrooms. If you get there early you can park next to the ramp. Go up river and fish the far bank with bobber and eggs. Been some pretty hot days there over the last few weeks.Low slack seems to be the most productive.

Recommend you launch at Bernie's (Radio Shack, across the street from the grocery store) and run upstream. The small beach about 1/4 mile up from the launch on the opposite shore has fished real well in the past, don't know about this year.

I hear that they are catching some fish in all tidewater so run on up and fish the rip-rap or the brush line on the east bank above that or Hanneman's hole. Basically fish any of the brush lines 5-6' below a bobber or any of the corners 7-8' below a bobber with shrimp and eggs, outgoing tide.

Avoid Bob Straub boat ramp if possible. It is a good launch but the fishing is pure combat. There is plenty of parking there.

The Gaurd Rail hole, about a mile below Bob Straub has fished real well in the past but I have only heard of a few fish taken there this year. Don't know why the fish are not stacking there as usual.

Good luck.

Adding to Pilar's comments . . .
I've heard those guys don't tolerate playing fish. If you catch one, horse it in so everyone else can continue fishing. You probably won't be able to do this with 15 or 20lb. test line.

It's "Battle ground, meat market fishing" so know the "ground rules" and have a good time.
I think it's worth the experience. I wouldn't want to do it too often, but that stuff is O.K. once in a while.
