Can anyone recomend a spot to fish from the bank on the sandy/clackamas? Recently returned to Porrtland and I don't feel like driving to the coast.

I would bank fish up at Cedar Creek on the Sandy. The hike back out from the river really sucks, but the fishing can at times really make up for that.

Just went out to look the river over tonight at 5:00 and saw it was totally blown out. Don't recommend going to that river for 3-4 days minimum. Hope this week's rain didn't do what it did last October to the glacier. The river still hasn't recovered from the mass of silt that was washed down. In some places it's a 1-2 ft thick layer of brown ooze.

hard to believe that with only 8ft on the gauge the sandy is blown out. if the rain holds off it should settle in in a few days. saturday may even look good. it should drop off pretty fast and fall into color.

let's hope that we don't have a repeat of last year's disaster. i was at the boat ramp at oxbow a few days after that; the mud seemed to be solid but when you hit a soft spot you were up past your ankles in ooze. there are some holes upriver that still haven't recovered from that one. i'm hoping for some good blowout rains this fall and winter to take the sand and silt out of them.
