dressed or naked?

What are the pros and cons of of dressing hooks for hardware?
I can see where spoons action would be impared by overdressing, other than that I like to use a little flashabou and maybe a single palmered hackle or something similar for both spinners and spoons.

I tried this on one of the upper lakes for Kokanee, and they all but quit biting. I went back to my original lure and started catching again. I'm determined to give it another try, but this time I'll keep better notes on the colors used and in what combinations.
