Spent saturday in the ocean out of Garibaldi. caught 4 big silvers and a jack, for 3 rods (released all)saw a number of people keeping silvers???????????? ( evidentely the sheriffs saw a few also). Went to Nehalem above 101 bridge and my son caught a 29 1/2 lb. hen. NICE fish with great looking eggs. He also caught and released a 1o-12 lb. silver. The rest of the boat? Skunked. He is beginning to make this a habit.

I fished out of Nehelam on Saturday till about 11:00 am from Wheeler to the bridge, lost one using a #5 Orange Fox. Herring got nothing. We had to get back early though so we couldn't stay for round two. That is an excellent fish, what did you take her on?

TPM,
My son caught it on a spinner ( not sure what there called). It has a willow leaf blade that is half silver and half brass color. The body is made up of green beads. This is the first time that I have fished up as far as the town of Nehalem. A buddy of mine has made 4 trips to the area this year and brought back fish each time using the same set-up. It was actually pretty slow sunday, only saw about 5 nets out all day in that stretch. Have you had luck this year using the orange fox?

I fished Nehalem on Sunday from Wheeler up above the bridge to the town of Nehalem. Fish were jumping consistently all day, but few were biting. Had one nice, but brief take down by the town of Nehalem around high slack on a spinner, (brass blade w/ chartruese tip, flourescent orange top & orange beads) SHARPER HOOKS!! ARRGH! saw about 10 caught with 4 or so silvers going back, for quite a few boats.
