I am considering the drift for Tuesday morning unless...... I estimate from the water flow graph that the river should be around 750 cfs. I am good with the boat and think water level will be the greatest consideration

Constructive comments from anyone with experience on this section of river would be greatly appreciated as I have never floated it before. I saw one boat go by the mouth of Eagle Creek on Wed. That was the recent crest 900 cfs and they did sound like a thunderstorm as they bounced down. Is that the worst rapid? At this time I have one seat open. Preference will be given to someone with experience. Any other boats want to take the lead and show me the way?

Oops make that Feldheimers to Barton. I know Barton to Carver. A piece of cake! Except for the sled avoidance tactics required.

Last week we drifted from Barton to Carver. Spent a lot of time drift fishing from the bank along the way. The 3 of us hooked 15+ coho from the bank. It would have been dark by the time we made it to Carver, if we'd started at Feldheimers.
Something to consider.

B-Man:

I did Feldheimers to Carver twice in the past couple weeks. You'll scrape a few times. No big deal.

As far as the rapids at Eagle Creek go, they'll take you in the right direction, as you approach the Creek stay far right and slip into the channel.

There is plenty of water to get you past the Island.

For clairification are you saying you would go around the right side of the island? There is alot more flow on the left side and the right side has some hellaychious rocks, waves, speed and is very narrow.

You want to float right next to the mouth of eagle creek.

The first slot at the tail out of Feldhimers can be a puckerer also, stay about 5 feet off the bank and you will float right through.

At the clay below th powerlines, middle track then jog left at the first small island..........

Good luck........I'd take you up on your open seat, but I fished today (mon) and have fish and eggs to take care of (sorry zipper lip spot, went 2 for 4 and only boat arround), want to get some work done at work tomorrow

Bugle Man:

Never tried the left side. Is it easier to navigate then the right?

After banking it there yesterday I think it would be easier to just sneak down along the mouth of Eagle Cr.

There was a morning bite there plus snaggers on the E. bank, they were of the tiny tiny corky variety. I went 1 for 4 and it was a fiesty 15" jack coho. Absolutly slammed a pink spin and glow with eggs and ended up with a 1/0 owner through the eyeball.

Thanks folks!
