Fished the Nehalem Friday and Saturday. On Friday we boated a bright hen of about 16-18 lbs. We fished the Wheeler area mostly and saw about 12-15 fish caught. Most appeared to be smaller chinook and large coho. All appeared to be taken on plug cut for the most part. I spoke to a fellow who said that about 30 coho were caught out at the jaws on Friday and that most of them were running 12-15 lbs. Saturday wasn't as productive and I only saw a few fish caught in comparison to Friday. We fished from Wheeler to the North fork from early morning until late afternoon. I did see one fellow loose a very large chinnok at the boat who was troling plug cut above Nehalem. I bet that caused a few choice words to fly. There were probably as many fish caught Saturday however the boat/rod to fish ratio had to be lower. I'm haeded out again Friday and Saturday next week to take advantage of this nice fall weather. images/icons/wink.gif
