Got Fish?

Has anyone been doing any sturgeon fishing the last 2 months? Even though it has been catch and release there has still been people fishing. Would like to find out where the best bites have been so I can take a couple of people out that have not been fishing for sturgeon before in their lives. I would think that the mid-river would be the best but would like to find out more. Thanx.

I've just started going out in the last couple of weeks, after I found out that the Multnomah Channel and Willamette was open all this time..it's like it hasn't changed..I've had a very good year so far with the Gators.
Caught alot of shakers today..within a few inches of the limit..still fun to catch..no keepers in the last few weeks though.

GF,
The sturgeon fishing is good just about anywhere on the Columbia you anchor up. I have caught sturgies all year just messing around when the Salmon, or lack therof, bite was slow. We did a "just for the heck of it" drop at a favorite spot and caught just about as many as we would have if the fishing was red hot images/icons/grin.gif
Squid or smelt anywhere in the normal spots should kick out fish. I usually fish around the Portland area with the Fishery as a secondary spot and the fishing is good. It really has not slowed down a bit. If you would like some "detailed" locations, shoot me an e-mail and I will send you to a good spot images/icons/wink.gif
