I took my 9 year old daughter to the Beavers game today. I think most would agree that the pre-game ceremony was beautiful and touching. The feeling of community in the stadium was palpable. The crazy thing was, before the first play from scrimmage, 2 guys wearing orange next to us were ready to duke it out over the standing/not standing issue. Scared the *** out of my daughter, and ruined her very first College football game. Worst part is, these are season tickets, so we will be spending Saturdays next to these people all fall long. I hope that people like this realize that patriotism means more than wearing a t-shirt with a flag on it and wanting to bomb the **** out of some psycho pistol wavers. We gotta start to get along with each other better.
