steelhead are fun to catch what ever size they are. Summers are the best fighters.

Boy you got to want it bad to drive over the Mountain this time of year. Did the water go down? Man was it blown for most of the fall.

It's not bad from Bend :D The water was low and clear on the 1st. However, today there was quite a bit of run off as it warmed to 54 in Maupin. Fished for 5 hours and not a fish!!!

Speyguy,
Pretty much nobody will see Warm Springs until the end of April as it's closed until then. Used to be the best BWO fishery in the state, but the tribes didn't like it being open year round. You've got to be north of Dixon (north boundary of the reservation) to fish the river this time of year. It can be really fun trout fishing when the water levels cooperate. I like to fish the back eddys above Maupin with long light leaders and BWOs around mid-day.
Cheers!
