Get working around the house for now so when they things start to pick up you'll have time to go!

work around the house for now.when working around the house pick projects you can drop as soon as the rain hits.when the rain comes is when it really starts, not to say you cant catch fish now.it just depends on how much you can get away with at home. images/icons/grin.gif

Fished the mouth of the Clackamas this morning above the Mcloughlin bridge for 30 minutes before work with about 25 to 30 of my closest friends. images/icons/rolleyes.gif

I never saw a fish on. images/icons/frown.gif I had to head to work at 6:55.

The guy next to me said he had 70 bites yesterday and only managed to foul hook one fish. images/icons/rolleyes.gif When I left this morning he was up to about 15 bites and was getting quite a work out setting that hook. images/icons/rolleyes.gif About every 2nd or 3rd cast he would make that big hookset and say very loudly something like "Oh' he was really taking it that time" This doughball was nothing but a snagger images/icons/mad.gif and he wasnt even a good one.

But, was he serious?? Did he actually believe he was getting "bites"? There really are a lot of people who think every little bump by the weight is a "bite". Don't just label these people snaggers..maybe they don't know any better. Talk to 'em!!! I've converted more than a few on the Salmon River.

good point about that snagging thing. when i first got started, i couldn't tell fish from bottom and swung at anything that felt good. needless to say, i snagged fish aplenty and i'm sure i ticked off more than a few fellow bank maggots. two years later and i have a much better feel for the difference between bottom and a bite, but i still swing at some rocks from time to time.

Well we picked one up yesterday at the mouth of the Clack. We picked it up around 10:40 a.m. Than I had to go in to take my daughter to the dentist. We came back in the afternoon but nothing for us. We did see 3 fish caught in the afternoon. I felt we were VERY LUCKY to get that one fish.
I know you don't like to do yard work, but it's better to do yard work when the fish are not biting than when they ARE biting images/icons/cool.gif

This gives me an idea.. I'm going to rename my boat "Yard" .. that way i can work on my "yard", sit in my "yard", show my fishin buddies and take them out in my "yard". And since my "yard" is portable, i'll always have beautiful water front property running on both sides of my "yard".

I have a feeling i'll be getting a lot more work done in my "yard" from now on.
