Christmas or New Years are festive nights for many couples, even us older poops.

We stay home most times and quietly celebrate the occassion together, with due to disability challenges, family and friends so far away or having other plans for the evening?

We have tried serving ourselves multiple Hor deurves, or baking a small turkey, ham or trying a prime rib roast. All are good but we don't need to eat it for several days and it gets more dried out with time. The prime rib is great the first time, but overcooks when reheated subsequent times.

Just wondering what you other stay at home couples do for your holidays meals to make it a little special and festive?

Happy holidays to you all regardless of religious beliefs or traditions. Peace on earth is so badly needed now?

On occassions when it was just 2 for holiday dinner, I often would get just a half-turkey breast and roast that. Or go out to eat. That's a little different/special. And no leftovers to speak of, which is sometimes a good thing. This year we had a smaller than expected crowd for Thanksgiving and although wonderful, we ate way too much of the rich stuff for the week following! (even though my mother in-law brought along her own "to go" containers and carted leftovers home :))

We enjoy eating some of our special meals at home. Last night we celebrated our 28th anniversary with a roast leg of lamb, some wild rice, roasted cauliflour and a great bottle of petit syrah (which I could drink, since I was home). Over the past few years we've been enjoying lamb more and more, it's a nice change of pace.
Another dinner for 2 favorite is to make a paste out of olive oil and Good Seasons Italian dressing mix and rub it over Cornish Game Hens and roast them, mmmmmmmm.
