I took my fiance's boy, Jake,
steelheading up the Snake River last
night. We hooked 9 fish and landed 6.
Three were nates, three were hatchery
fish. One of the nates was a nasty ol
Ike, 20 plus pounds! Hatchery fish
were from 8-12 pounds. Gotta love
those vortexes! Shhh be varry varry
quiet were hunting steelhead! WHO'S
YOUR DADDY! images/icons/grin.gif

Vinny,
As of Sept. 9th the limit for steelhead has increased to 3 fish a day on the Snake! That will make for a whole lotta fun! images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/grin.gif

Hi Krome Brite,
I only use the little lighting. The hot color is the red with black back. Third plug down is the right color. 35 pulls back. 20 pound Fireline. Change hooks to #4 gamakatsu.
Use bigger split rings to get hooks a little farther out from body.
ps. small chunk of shrimp on
front hook will pay big dividends! images/icons/grin.gif

Aha, gotcha FNF. Thanks for the advice. I see the little lightning's on the site I found. Did you get 'em from Fisherman's or Joe's? I don't have a boat, but I know these things work off the bank on the Columbia. I know of a guy that slays the steelhead and silvers someplace at the mouth of some river on the Columbia images/icons/tongue.gif with those Vortex's.

Krome Brite,
When you get your vortexes, take the time to superglue every seam. When you add your batteries take aquarium sealant and put a dab on top of the batteries and then screw cap down. Do not screw on too tight. Let plug set up before using(about 20 minutes).
Smear up with shrimp salt smelly jelly. Add small chunk of shrimp on front hook. CATCH STEELHEAD AND SALMON, THEN GO HOME! images/icons/grin.gif
