Yep, they've decided to allow the Native American's to sell their fresh and smoked salmon out of the back of a truck at the weekly Milwaukie Farmer's Market. It made me sick.
I'm trying to do some research on their rights to do such, so any links that people can point me to would be greatly appreciated.

I've beed seeing a white guy selling TULE's for $7 each at the am/pm on glencoe&US26 in Hillsboro. Are these gillnetters???? Or maybe comercial guys trying to get better than market prices??
I also saw where commercial gillnetters were giving their fish away to protest low prices.
Oh how my heart bleeds.

Bump for an impatient protestor.

Saw a truck selling Salmon near The Keg
resturant on McLaughlin in Milwaukie. I didn't stop since we have enough fish in the freezer. One guy was waving a flag too.
I sure wouldn't buy fish from a road side truck. I wonder who is buying from them.
The steak at The Keg is the best steak around. We hadn't eaten there in years and deciced to give it a try since it didn't look too crowded and on a friday night that seemed strange. At 7pm the waitress said everyone was going outside to light a candle and we had a moment of silence in the resturant too.

Do these venders sell salmon eggs too? Fresh chinook eggs arent easy to find this time of year unless you caught one yourself. images/icons/confused.gif After the fish is dead you cant do much about it. images/icons/frown.gif I saw the someone was running an add in the Nickle Ads. They were selling eggs for $5.00 a pound. Is that the going price or have you heard of someone selling them for less?. Thanks for the info........Fishhead Vic images/icons/grin.gif

DO not purchase from these people. IF there is no market, they will go away. IF you want good eggs, see Scott (proud new papa) Ammerman.

who buys it ? people that look at it as just a peice of fish, they think nothing more of it than when you or i buy a pound of hamburger at the meat market.

I agree with Fishbait. Buy your eggs from Scott. Used Scotts eggs on the NF Lewis yesterday. They produced 3 fish. 1 small chinook and 2 nice silvers. images/icons/smile.gif

Silent Lucidity: It looked like these guys that were selling fish on friday were just setting up there to sell there fish and is was about 6:30pm. I wonder if they just move around in hopes to make some good sales.
Did see a guy selling fishing stuff from a trailer right in front of the Bomber Resturant today. He sure had lot's of stuff crammed in this tiny trailer.

I will be checking tomorrow to see if they are selling again. The director of the Milwuakie Farmer's Market didn't know that they were selling smoked fish, so he will be talking to them about it. They need a kitchen inspection notice up to sell prepared foods there.
Never did hear back from the ODFW whether they can sell their tribal fish just any old place.

Why would you buy anything but the freshest eggs? Scott Amerman is the guy to call.

Sorry Scott never used your eggs but I do know for a fact that Marie’s eggs from T.B.C
Are what I will be using this year. What river I fished I wont say but I did land six fish I did have to work to get them so if you are in the area of Marie's stop in and buy some if you are in the need for eggs.
