I want to take the wife fishing this weekend (Sunday), but she's not too into getting up at 3:30am to get to the launch by 6am (I live in Hillsboro).
images/icons/confused.gif Question: About how long can I expect to wait in the launch line if I head out at 6am and get into town about 8:30 to 9am? When do the lines start to thin out?
This would be her first time Salmon fishing and I want to make sure that she has a good trip, so she stays interested.
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Mark-
Because I work nights I will put in later in the day a lot. I would go with Tackle Time over hammond because it is easier to tie up and park the rig if the wife, kids in my case, can't drive or deal well with the boat trailer. Don't worry about the line to get in the water. The better she understands it takes time to get in and out of the water the more forgiving she will be next time your late because the ramps were bad. images/icons/smile.gif
In my opinion tides are more the thing you need to worry about not the time of day on the Columbia. Your not on the Clack and needing to be the fist one through the hole to get the fish. At the church hole bridge area last Tuesday I did not realy do any good untill well after noon when the out going tide started running. The important thing with kids and wives is they have fun not be suffering from sleep loss. Tired people are cranky people.
Also, don't forget to reserve your bait. The only thing about leaving later is you sometimes don't end up with the best bait.
Have fun and listen to your wife. If she is ready to get off the water then go. One or no fish may be a bad day for us but to someone new taking it slow is good. The times I have tried to push it to long with my wife and or kids is when it does not turn out a fun time but a very long and quiet drive home. Now my 5 year old girl beggs me to go out and fish. It took a lot of 3 hr trips but now she handles a 7 hr day on the water no big deal. She even has caught her third silver for the year last tuesday. (Hope to have pictures soon.)
I may be out sunday as well I am in a green Bronco and a blue sided BlueWater and usually I have a little blond girl in a red life jacket with me.

Why in the world would you launch at 6AM with these tides? Marc, Listen to Bluewater.
