I checked the Noaa bouy site for Newport this evening and at 7:00. 21 knot wind from the north (350 deg) and 9 ft ocean, small craft adv. with a prediction of 20-25 knot winds through the weekend. Once again this sounds too big for me out there, so its either the national motorcycle dirt track race, or the river. If you do go for it, my theroy is if the wind is coming from the north, run north in the morning when the waves usually aren't as big and you can come back with the waves rather than against them in the afternoon. Hopefully this wont be another busy weekend for the Coast Guard.
