OK guys and gals ... I've been looking for a higher rated 14" trailer tire for my single axle trailer ... the Kumho 857 radial has a rating of 2150 @ 65#
the problem is finding them as they only run them off once a year ...
I have been looking at going to a 14.5" tire ... Denman makes a 8-14.5 TL tire with a 2660 @115# and a 7-14.5 TL rated at 1845 @ 85#
These denmans are a low platform trailer tire... My current tires are G78-14 ST with a 26.6 O.D. the denman 8-14.5 TL is 27.6 O.D.... Soooo... I'm pretty sure these will work as I don't tow over 55 MPH
What do you all think about it ... Sincerly Barney

What's wrong with the Kuhmo's? I know some places are out of stock, but not all. Give Kuhmo in Rancho a call. One of their distributors likely has some in stock. I know that when I checked a few weeks ago, there were some in northern Cal.

Hey Ploughman  Every tire distributor up here tells me they are out of stock ... I need the 205/R14C to get the rating I want ... If you have more info where to try and get them drop me a PM ... Thanks Barney

Tirerack.com stocks them in Reno, should be about 20 bucks shipping, Wally world will put them on. Get most of my tire on the internet. Odd sized rims are just a big pain. The kuhmo are rated for 99-106 mph...... so ah, how fast do you drive?

look at the 28/8.50/14 Pickup tire such as wild country or toyo in a road tread, my friends did this and they were something like 2400 lbs a tire.... and on a single axle trailer havent had any adverse wear... dont know how they would do in tandem though.... he just keeps them aired up to max... has had them for 8 years and still have good tread and no flats ect been really happy so far..

I have thought about that but the increased sidewall strength of a ST tire over a LT tire makes me pretty leery of the combination ... Thanks though... Barney
