It's a 1977, 85 horse Merc, with jet pump and tiller handle, mounted on a 94 intruder hull. Under acceleration and or full speed, it wants to turn a corner to the right, hard. Pulls hard enough I have to switch hands after 15 minutes of steady running, and at the end of the day it feels like I have been lifting weights? Any ideas?
Load distribution is good and it looks to be mounted level on the transom.

Look at your pump nozzle where water exits pump. There will be a couple small fins inside. Take a needle nose and slightly bend the tail the opposite direction that your motor is pulling. All will be well.

That will fix it if you do it right.

I looked at the thing, looks kinda hard to foul up? Any precautions, or just bend it?
Thanks

This could be an issue with the engine angle to the transom...I corrected this problem on 2 different hulls with outboard jets and 1 prop driven boat by tilting the engine to raise the bow..the forward part of the hull needs to be free of the water surface otherwise the boat will bite and try to steer itself

I had the same problem once upon a time. The was a small rock stuck on one side of the outlet of the pump.

Thanks PC, I will try that before I bend the deal at the pump output.
Whats a GOP?
