I have been hunting the lower C a bit lately. Do folks think it's salty enough to need to flush an outboard out after use? It's pretty salty down there? My lower unit just got rebuilt and had a bit of corosion, and i think the prior ownwer used it on the lower c--and the ocean, but maybe not cleaned of salt enough?:nerd::argue: oh, by lower river i mean arouond the L&C refuge, and just below those islands.

Definte "lower C" for us. John Day on a small high tide? Probably not. Hammond or Chinook, ever? Probably a good idea.

Tar Heel,
I personally flush after hunting the LC.....there is definitely a salty push up that way....

Some salt makes it almost to Puget Island when it is dry.

Thanks, guys. I had forgotten I made this post:sleep:, then I was day dreaming of skies full of ducks and 20 mph winds--see this weekend's forecast. I bought a watchamacallit to flush the engine after Lower C. use to play it safe. Dixie, lets chat NC sometime!
