Is the fishing at Frenchman's starting to pick up. Last time I went out with my dad we got lucky to catch one images/icons/grin.gif. But only a couple of other people caught one besides us and they didn't look real big.

Thanks Hogtide!

Have you been hitting the Longview area? Using Alvins? What depth have you been picking up the fish. Seems most fish at F-bar are in deeper water (40-50 ft.)

Hello,

Fished Frenchman's Bar today with Gizmo...Zippo, Nada, Nothing...not even a sniff. Probably 40+ Boats...Not One Net Flying all morning on the outgoing tide from 6:00 AM On..... We were in 40 - 45 feet of water... A few fish passing through...No Biters images/icons/confused.gif

I wanted to try Frenchmans but the results are same upriver and downriver the last two days for me. What's up and what's next?

It's been consistantly good for over a week now in the lower river. Sounds like there are good things hapening in the Porland area now, also.

Good Luck!

Go where the water is cooler.

Thumper,
What are you doing up so early? I have been working on lighted vortexes all night. I now have 70 working vortexes, 20 working Litefish and 1 lighted kwikfish(only four have been made so far). I was lucky enough to score one from Dave at Luhr-Jensen. They are fully sealed and a battery will last 600 hrs!

Spent yestreday evening at F-bar. 4 rods,4 differant Alvins,no takedowns?? Didn't see a net pulled (approx. 20 boats). Should be good early morning outgoing tides over the weekend. Has there been anything caught downriver this week???????

Fished around Buoy 75 last night and saw two fish caught. One below me and one above. Very slow.

Again --- go where the water is cooler. FNF, I was getting ready to watch it get light on a very pretty river (where the water is cooler, of course). What on earth are you doing with all those Vortexes (Vortices?)?

Thumper,
Starting about the second week of September that is the only way I fish. Just love catching steelhead and salmon when almost everybody else is sleeping. Nothing beats nocturnal fishing! images/icons/grin.gif The reason I have so many vortexes is that they are not made too well. In the last 10 years I have bought over 400 of them! Psssst don't tell anybody else about em. Just tell em they don't work. Fishing above the dams is like fishing in a pond. No work involved, Just too much fun! images/icons/cool.gif

images/icons/frown.gif I have noticed that the surface temp has climbed from about 68 degrees to 70 degrees in the last 3 days or so.

They'll still munch down on a silver Clancy if it smacks 'em in the nose !

I usually fish 5 feet off the bottom in apx. 40' and have noticed good numbers of fish cruising at the 18'-20' range the last few trips. Might be worth dumping one rig over at 15 pulls or so !...a 'Deep Six' makes a great riggin' for that center 'shallow' rod, when anchored in a strong tide.

Good Luck...stay with 'em.

Hey, FNF,

Were you over there at the "cool water" spot Wed. eve? I saw a boat with that name on the side. It was a aluminum sled w/a snub nose. Just wondering if it was you. I was in the little battleship grey fiberglass, open, "PT" looking boat. With my girlfriend.

No fish for us. Finally gave up due to the wind making life hell.
