I'm a factory trained OMC tech, but my training was in the late 70's. I owned and operated a 300 slip marina with boat sales and rental boats including OMC I/O powered 50 foot houseboats, ski boats (both I/O and outboard), bass boats, aluminum fishing boats, and jet skis. In addition we operated a repair shop for our own equipment and customer equipment and performed dockside maintenance for our slip customers. Our slip customers ranged from 14 foot runabouts to 60 foot houseboats, etc. We used mostly OMC products, but we inherited a lot of Mercurys when we bought the place, so I'm familar with both.
I just couldn't resist commenting on some of the topics here. I hope I'm not too noisy.

Nothing wrong with creating a wider knowledge base here. A welcome addition as far as I'm concerned.
