View Full Version : My wife's first Chinook

First Bite

On Friday my wife and I decided to take a trip to the coast to fish a little and just take it easy. A friend of mine told me about the Chinook fishing on the Nehalem river and I thought I'd check it out since I've never fished there before. There was a no bait restriction in affect so I just used my plain pink/white jig. On my third cast I hooked and landed a bright buck around 15 pounds. A few minutes later I had another bobber down using the same jig. This time I handed the pole to my wife and let her fight the fish. It took awhile but she eventually landed the thirty pound buck. Her expression tells it all in the picture. Definetly a kodak moment.

WTG Cindy and Mark!!! Great fishin. ... Mark made a believer of me last fall when we caught multiple chinooks in clear water on his pink and white jigs tipped with a sandshrimp tail. Bobber down - fun! Saves eggs too images/icons/wink.gif .

Rock on!

I remember my mom's first silver (or first salmon) that she landed back in December. I remember both of my brothers' first salmon as well. I think we can chalk up another addicted, female fishermen. images/icons/cool.gif She doesn't happen to have a younger seeeester would she? images/icons/grin.gif
