Hey there invader, dont give that rod and reel to Pete. He's lieing, it belongs to me. You found it in the Columbia River, it is a fibreglass pole and the reel has line on it and it has a level wind so the line can be rolled onto the spool. I cant remember the brand name or the color but just trust me its mine. My fishing buddy Snippy can verify that it is mine and ill have him contact you as soon as he gets out of the county jail. He is in there for perjury. Thankyou for finding it and thankyou for sending it to me. Cagey. images/icons/tongue.gif images/icons/cool.gif

Pete, sounds like you have found two worth while things this summer. The Ifish site and the rod and reel. Hope you end up with some other fine cathes along the way. Keep you hook wet and and eye out for the sharks.

If it was a tiger stick loaded with 80 lb tuff and you found it on the oregon side at Horsetale falls, I paid for it, so I guess I own it. Long story.........

hehehe nice try boater.... theres a date on the pole.... and its not very long ago!!
Ya know invader I forget to remove the date code from that pole but I didn't write it down...it was very current however. The pole was long and straight and had a reel attached to it and even was spooled with my favorite line so I guess this is the best description..........just tell me where to pick it up and there won't be any more of these folks trying to get it...it's mine...it's mine... images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif

Ok,invader, I'll fess up. I did lose a pole in the columbia when I was sturgeon fishing, can't remember the brand of pole but it did have a penn reel. It was the first time I used it and a fish came along and hit it and took the darn thing right out of the rear cockpit area and into the river. I still laugh about this today with my friends who witnessed this. Two of us tried to get the rod (not pole, that is what carries power lines) and watched it fly out of the boat, into the water and was gone. There wasn't a big fish on the end was there images/icons/grin.gif This his unfortunately a true and funny story. images/icons/grin.gif images/icons/grin.gif

cant remember the name of the pole?? from last spring??.. i went and looked up the pole and its 275 dollars.... but you are close on the reel...and where in the columbia did you lose it??......john
yea, that is about how much I paid for the whole setup. I think I lost it somewhere upstream of where you found it, I know we are on the same page...this can be easy if you just hand it over as I know now it was the lost rod from my boat images/icons/cool.gif

Invader,
Good Job on the post and welcome! You'll have better luck using found gear if you try to get it back to it's owner. It's a karma thing! images/icons/smile.gif

I watched a buddy of mine try to cast after catching an oversized sturgeon and he backlashed. The pole was ripped out of his hands. Tried to catch it for a while but no luck. The river carried it down stream. It was a 20-50 pound ugly stick and had a Penn 320 with 80 pound white Tuff line. I think you already said it wasnt an ugly stick though. But if anyone else has seen it?

I ...er...no...it was somebody else...sent an "LCI" with an Ambasseduer 6501C to the bottom downriver a bit from Washougal last year. Since evryone else is taking a shot...I might as well. Really did lose the rod tho.
