Does anyone know where I can download or read a copy of a June 9, 1855 treaty that the Yakama's refer to in the Tacoma Power Cowlitz River 2016 Project? The Yakama Nation refer it @ 4.5 of the settlement agreement. They say "Under authority of the Treaty of June 9, 1855, the Yakama Nation claims perpetual rights to harvest fish at usual and accustomed places ("U & A") within the upper Cowlitz River basin." Can anyone help me find this treaty?
Thanks, Cowlitzfisherman

Hi Cowfish,
Glad to see you post on both BBs now. There was a Gov. url posted back a fwe months ago on Piscatorial or here on ifish that led to copies of most of the Indian Treaties. Use the search features to help you find them. You also should look up the Federal Court review mandates by judges Boldt and Belloni; they may hold more influence than the earlier treaties. Unfortunately, neither hold as much power as the combination of constant Indian atribal threatened federal lawsuits, the NMFS, and Sce. order #3206 (also posted in entirety on one of the BBs - use search) by the Dept. of the Interior. As has been your norm of late, I am looking forward to reading pertinent things you find out. Thank you Bob Reid from us sportfishers!
