This mine for Elk and Deer. EVERYONE that has tried it loved it so don't knock it unless you try it....

for 1-2 lb deer or elk steak

cut meat into 3/4'' strips

1 cube margerine
2 tsp garlic powder
3 tsp of your favorite steak seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp chinese hot mustard (optional)
1/2 cup plain yellow mustard :bigshock:(this is the most important ingrediant)
you can use any seasonings that you could possibly want to season to your taste....

in 13'' non stick frying pan add all ingrediants into pan melt down butter and stir all together well. add meat cook on high heat this will all come to a boiling gravy looking mess but keep stiring the gravy will disapate and cook off then turn down heat as this hppens to not make such a mess. You can make it as crispy as you want at this point. great with fried taters!!!!!

to make this even better

remove meat add into same pan with pan
on high heat

3/4 cup cooking cherry
1 cut up red, yellow, and green bell peppers
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 sliced baseball sized onion
1 cup snow peas

stiring constantly until peppers and onions are tender then place veggies and meat over rice this is the most awesome stir fry you will ever come across!!!!!!:what:

I used this recipe tonight with elk backstrap and it turned out great. I usually don't like mustard on sandwiches, but it went great with this combination. I also marinated the meat in yoshidas teryaki sause for about 10 minutes then dumped the sause with the meat into the frying pan. I also chopped up an onion and threw it in there.
