I am in the replacing the plywood decking on my MID-JET sled.
Used 6 ply plywood in marine grade for the task.
Am looking for a deck coating that will not be slipery.
Want to roll on.
Anybody have the same thing happen to them?

Cabelas has a sand that you can mix with your paint. Works well for many years.

There are various paint additives that make surfaces slip resistant... Try Googling (non skid deck coatings) Theres a lot to choose from...
Good Luck on your project... Barney:wave:

I just did the new floor of my driftboat with truck bed liner that I bought at Joes. Cost about $40 for a gallon and it goes on with a roller. Seems like it will be bullet proof. A friend bought the Skid No More paint that they sell for his floor and I made the mistake of wearing my studded wading boots in his boat. The results were not good.

If you go with the truck be linning do not use the "Duplicolor" brand. Not durable at all. I will try Herculiner next time.

I see DuraBak advertised for marine use. It is a bed liner type material. Have not used it however. A google search would give you an idea if folks who have used it liked it.

There's a guy in Pacific City who applies chopper-gun fiberglass with non-skid grit to the floorboards of the local dory fleet. You can pick any color you want. He did my dory, and the surface is very durable and very non-skid. It's a no-nonsense finish that sees hard use in commercial troller dories as well as sport dories. It is, however, very abrasive and would skin your knee or elbow easily. PM me if you're interested, I can give you his name and number.

Thanks for the info.
I am wondering if there is a primmer to be applied before painting the hurculiner on the plywood.
There seems to be quite a selection of options.
Tinman, I was taken by your idea, but have to wonder cost.
The abrasive portion does not bother me.
The old plywood was coated with something that held on like crazy.
It still had the original paint on the deck, and it still looked good, but the wood was completely rotton.
Tinman, will P-M you .
