I just bought a Minn Kota Endura 30 to put on my little duck boat i was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to cut the shaft down. i believe that it is 30in and i want it about 13-15in so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Dosn't it have a clamp you can loosen and adjust how much shaft is in the water?...:confused:

Yeah but i want to cut the shaft permanently for a low profile look

Never heard of that one before .... Looks like you need to tear into the guts and see what it will take to get er done ... stripping out the wires to the motor and hacking it off is what your looking at ... But no garrantee from the company after your bob job , and it probably wouldn't be sealed properly either ... Good luck

If you are remotely mechanically inclined and have a bit of common sense, it's not difficult to do.

A couple tips:
Remove the head and cut the top of the shaft. When cutting the shaft, slide a piece 1/2" copper pipe inside the shaft to protect the wires going to motor.

Use a fine saw blade and don't breath in or get the composite shaft cuttings on your skin. Tends to make ya itch...:smash:
