I got home this afternoon and when I got out of my car I heard this Beep Beep Beep Pause Beep Beep Beep.
It was coming from my boat engine. The perko switch was set to off and then I took the ground off each of the batteries. Still beep beep beep.
It is coming from electronics in the back of the motor. Any one have any idea what it might be.
It is a 1999 KEM kodiak 454. I will call Randy tomorrow and see what he knows.

Don't feel bad I have a friend who bought a new 23 foot Seaswirl and he heard something coming from his cabin. He looked at every electrical connection aand could find nothing. He put his head next to one of his bags and found out it was his alarm clock. It happens to all of us. Eliminate the obvious and usually we find the problem.:yay::yay:

It sounds like a fishing frequency alarm. After decodeing it the 3 beeps pause and 3 beeps indicates it has been sitting to long since your last fishing trip. The only known fix is to cut work and head to your nearest river with fishing gear in hand. I hope this helps and if you need any help let me know I could come along and monitor any other alarms.

Now that there is funny, I don't care who you are!
When I get one of these weekend days free, you are more than welcome to come fishing with me. I will even get a new battery for the smoke detector so you can monitor any other alarms.

Yup! you aren't alone here.
Boat had beeping noise. I couldn't hear it, but it was loud enough to drive the wife crazy.:jester:
Checked out everything in the cuddy. Behold the carbon monoxide alarm was beeping, low battery warning. Put charger on batts and in four hours the dang thing shut up.
Batts recharged, alrm reset--
Hate it when the wife is right and I obviously don't have a clue as to whats going on around me.:bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::bowdown::b owdown:

OK, I'll share my brilliance on this post.
Fishing out of Depoe Bay in Aug '07, trolling along and the dash engine warning buzzer goes off. Annoying as heck, but the gauges say all is fine. After a while, I want to suck start my Glock so we head in. The next morning, I spent 4 hours checking all the sensors looking for the cause of the alarm. Didn't find anything wrong.
Now I'm really frustrated and crack a nice micro beer. On vacation, can't go fishing and sitting at the dock, why not? After the first beer, I call my local repair shop at home for advice. No help. The second beer, I start the deduction process.
As I swig down the last swallow of my 3rd beer, I look at my fuel flow meter to see the alarm icon flashing. What an friggin' idiot, my fuel flow meter sounded at 20 gallons just like I set it for! The fuel meter buzzer sounds exactly like my engine alarm. You would think after owning the boat for 4 years I would know this.

Hit the reset button, alarm turns off, too buzzed to skipper the boat, and staggered up the hill. I'm proud to be human.
