I have a 21' Alumaweld Formula Vee. The current anchor works, but is heavy, awkward, and heavy. :) Ideally I'm looking for something that I could anchor anywhere from below bonneville to buoy 10. Also, I'd really like to buy an anchor nest for this next anchor to free up the space in the bow of the boat and for easier anchoring.

Pictures of your own anchor setup and recommendations are very welcome.

Thanks,

Kurt

You didn't say what size anchor you have, but my 19' has a CR folding 26lber, with ball, and a Big Water nest. Works great.....

Miller is the way to go. It makes setting and retreiving your anchor easier and safer. Not the best picture.

:agree: A good anchor nest is the answer to your problem. You can easily pull the buoy, chain and anchor right into the nest without any scratches and without leaning over and hurting your back. I have the Big Water nest and it's great but have heard great things about the Miller Marine nest made by Gundog on ifish. If you pm me with your email I could send pictures.

I am in Vancouver and I could give you a demonstration of my Anchor Locker if you are interested. I also sell galvanized anchors in 3 sizes. I am working on a video for my web site that shows how the system works.

The Miller Marine anchor nest is exceptional! I've tried 2 other holders and while they worked ok - the Miller Marine is like having power steering or electric start:dance:. Chain is also important. I always have 6ft of chain on and another 6ft ready to link up if needed.
