Went out yesterday and found a couple fish at about 15 pulls. Had a lot of short strikes that tripped diver but no hood ups. What can I do to nail the short strikers. Heard it was very good at buoy #2 but I didn't venture out there.

Snapshot,
The "short strikes" you are getting may be from jacks. We had quite a few of those as well and found that the ones that we did manage to hook, were jacks. They have pretty small mouths and are difficult to hook. When they do get hooked though, it's a pain to get them off. We nailed most of our fish real shallow. What size hooks are you running? Buoy 10 has been really hot for me this year. I only fish it though on low slack and the first couple of hours on the flood. I generally stay away from the crowds and troll fast until I get into some fish. After I find the fish, I will usually do a controlled "backtroll" through the area with my kicker a very low rpm's. We nailed all but one keeper that way yesterday. Good luck.
