Does anyone fish above tongue point and when would you expect it to get good. I duck hunt around the Russian Island area, which starts in early October and would love to do a good Cast & Blast trip. Any info would be appreciated.

Hey LTF! How you doing? Looks like you're already thinking bout' ducks images/icons/grin.gif

I've done the cast and blast combo before. In fact We hunted and fished at the same time. (Sept. Goose) We would set out our deeks on a sand bar and then take a couple of beat up rods (to cut down on flashyness) and put them in sand spikes aways down from us and toss spin'n'glos for summer steelhead.

We never did get any fish, but did manage to bag quite a few birds. It's kinda fun trying to keep an eye on your rod and keep an eye out for birds at the same time.

Hmmmmm......Now you got me thinking. What about an open water layout in 50' of water fishing alvins in the layout boat. Might be Interesting images/icons/wink.gif

Also, Down at tounge, I'd hunt the islands on the incoming, then go over to the mouth of Big Creek and throw spinners for nooks. That would be a pretty good combo. Or fish off of Jim Crow sands.

Good Luck

Aaron

Hey Aaron,
I'm always thinking about ducks! Anyway that big creek is not a bad Idea. You going to be trying for some early geese this year? If you wanted to work together, I could maybe come up with 5 Doz or so decoys.
Oh yeah, our boat now has an 18 Gal built in tank. No more runing back in on the kicker.

Let me know,

Rob
