Sandybar,

This info is the most up to date I have been able to find. It is somewhat crude and the resolution varies with the post times, but it does show warm water within 50-60 miles. Maybe closer. You decide.

Hope it helps...

Tight lines and please give us a full report.

Just to expound a bit on Mr F's post. Here's the Washington/Oreong 14km SST (http://www.osdpd.noaa.gov/PSB/EPS/SST/data/km14f4n.html) This zooms you in a bit.

Here is the best temp view I know of:

Looks like there is warm water right near shore down south.

RS, MS,

Those have better resolution but look at the dates they were updated. Can't go fishing in the past without a picture book.

There is another source that has great resolution, grid lines for lat/long and it is updated several times daily. The catch is it costs $99.95/year to access it.

At least the Navy info is updated frequently and has grid lines so you can get a rough idea where the hot spots are. It isn't printer friendly, however, and it is difficult but not impossible to plot goto points using a piece of paper and your monitor.

I hope you find it useful and helpful to find those Tuna images/icons/smile.gif

Mr. F. out....

Hey thanks for all the info, I will try to get into em and will reply with a post on our results. But first Im off to B-10 in the morning, then the Dechutes on Saturday. Sunday take a breather and off to the tuna.
I will be in fishing wonderland for 3 blissful days.

You can sign up for this service its free and if the clouds cooperate you can get 1.1Km sattelite shots of the area with Lat and Lon gridlines

Was out Tuesday before weather kicked up. Headed out of the Willapa towards the outside dumping grounds but stopped short when we saw the commercial fleet 54 miles off the beach directly west of Klipsan. I know this is north of where you are fishing, but reports over the VHF said it slowed for the commercial fleet down south. Most of the bigger boats were working about 15 miles north of the inner dumping grounds. I started about five miles in tfrom the main fleet and hit fish from 15-20 lbs. Fish size decreased as I got out farther. NW came up so we bolted for the beach. Nice weather once inside 50 fathoms. Outside blowing 20-25 NW and about a 6 foot swell at about 7 seconds...uncomfy in a 28 footer!! Good luck down south! Oh, had reports that straight off Westport 50-55 miles fish were running into the 30's.
