ok,so bugles are good, but i cant seem to replace the loss of blue bell snaps and taco flavored doritos. anybody got any ideas? i'll be ok, just fishing can never be the same. it is to me, a quality of life issue. does anybody have a snack food they love that has been taken from them, leaving a festering sucking void that cannot be filled? if not, then i am alone. my pain is truly, my own. images/icons/confused.gif

My favorite boat snack is peanuts still in the shell. Many years ago we were fishing and hadn't caught anything so my grandpa told us to eat peanuts and throw the shells in the water to attract the fish (he thought it would entertain the kids). Much to his suprise several minutes later we had a fish in the boat. Since then it has been a family tradition to never be in a boat without peanuts and whenever fishing gets slow we all grab a handful and start eating and for some reason it always seems to bring some luck to the boat.

Snack foods....when I was younger used to be donuts.....now that I'm older and wiser we have donuts. images/icons/wink.gif Actualy, the apples are making an appearance lately, gorp is good, brother always goes fishing with sun flower seeds(hate the seeds, always shells laying around). Last year on the Rogue at mid afternoon. The boat helper (cook & chief anchor puller) on the guide boat anchored next to us started preparing snacks for the clients. The list goes like this....sliced salami, cheeses, green olives, black olives, sweet pickles, dill pickles, pickled asparagus, carrot sticks, green & red peppers
and several different types of crackers. Guess I looked so hungry the guide threw me a slice of salami.
Food always taste better on the water!! images/icons/wink.gif

Cool Ranch Doritos. Just having them on board is not enough. You will not start to catch fish until the bag is opened and somebody on the boat starts eating them. After the bag is opened, hold onto your rods. They are a proven fish-catching aid.

One word: BANNANAS!!!!!
You might think I'm crazy, but we always have 'nanners on board and it hasn't affected us negatively in any way.
I know this is a really controversial issue with fisherfolks, but we keep gettin' fish, and I'm not gonna change.
