Tillamook Bay Coho

A buddy of mine is thinking about going to Tillamook Bay to do some crabbing. Is it even worth while yet to try for coho in the bay while the crab traps are out? When does the bay peak for salmon?

Not positive but i don't think you can take a coho from t-bay right now.

Page 4 2001 Sport regs say: Inland of the Green Hill to Kincheloe point line upstream to the Hwy 101 bridges over the Trask and Wilson rivers and the Burton Bridge over the Tillamook River IS open to adipose fin clipped COHO August 1 - Sept. 30. So, you can fish the Coast Guard hole, etc, but no further up then the crab harbor area?
Has anyone ever caught a coho this early in the upper bay?
Just wondering... This would be fun to find out! Are there fishies out there that need to be caught?

Here's a little tip. Now don't tell anyone. Just below the Pirates Cove Restaurant close to shore is a coho hangout. Try casting Cleos or Blue Fox spinners in there or just plunk sand shrimp and see what happens-----. Hope thats no ones secret hole. Watch out for the rocks.
