View Full Version : Coho/Silver fishing Alaskan style

Greetings from the great state of Alaska. I just couldn't stand the talk about Oregon Coho anymore, I had to add a bit about some silver fishing some guests did two days ago.

I set my guests up to do a flyout across the Inlet for silvers, and they had the time of there lives. One guy said it was the best fishing his 60 year old self had ever seen. They landed over 100 silvers images/icons/shocked.gif images/icons/shocked.gif in less than about five hours, and these were not six to seven pounds. We are talking up to about 14 pounds with the smallest about seven pounds or so, most in the nine to ten pound range. They brought back some great video to prove it!

Greetings again from the great state of Alaska, Silvers are thick as fleas in the Kenai now. Had two groups go out today, one in the middle river and one in the lower. Both put the hurt on quite a few silvers, with them keeping their limit and releasing a couple of limits a piece.

The Kasilof should be getting ready for her load of fish any day now.

Sad to hear that. What kinds of problems are you having with them? Last time I fished with them they were still top notch with the best pilots,planes and guides. With Gary supervising the guides,I KNOW they're still
catching fish like mad. Still sad to hear though.
