I realize this is akin to asking to spend the weekend with someone elses spouse but.. I'll ask anyway.
Would one of you crab slayers be so kind as to post or send the GPS coords to even ONE good spot in Tillamook Bay that a small timer in a 16ft drift boat can get to without danger of being swept out to sea? I have a little 9.9 to push me around and will avoid outgoing tide obvisouly but would prefer to stay well inside...
Normally I am content to work hard for my
1-2 keepers but with the in-laws coming into town this week I sure would like to knock their socks off with a boat load.
TIA,

Cosmo,
I really don't think you need a GPS to get to the crab in the BAY. One of the most popular spots is inside,Crab Harbor. Just head out to the bay ,after the veering right at the Coast guard Station, stay in the channel until you get past the green buoys. Then take a left and head over to the point where their is a floating outhouse. I think it's Stainless Steel. If you are just about 100 yards N.E. of thie Toilet . Drop your pots ,wait a half hour or 20 min. You should get more than 2 or 3. We use Whole Chickens to keep the Sharks from stealing our Bait images/icons/grin.gif JK . The seals won't eat the chicken or destroy your traps. Enjoy your time on the Bay and good Crabbing!! images/icons/cool.gif

Brown crab are good, and their always full images/icons/wink.gif

HB's spot is a keeper. you could also work Crab Harbor. I like 30' of water. Make sure to avoid the spot by the hazard marker. several pots are lost down that hole. it is reeel deep.

Good luck,

Mr. F
