I am in the Reedville area of Aloha which is about 1/2 mile from the city limits of Hillsboro. I consider myself from Hillsboro and tell people so when they ask where I live, or where I am from.

I am just so suprised about this Hillsboro thing - not the number of ifishers from there, but the number of guys from Hillsboro that can read and type images/icons/grin.gif . ... jk jk jk images/icons/shocked.gif ... Actually since I joined Stew and Steve (Fishbait) in Hillsboro's TV chapter of the *** . of NW Steelheaders I kinda feel like a Hillsboroite too. images/icons/wink.gif . I think there are at least 3 of us Cedar Mill'ingtons among the ifishers. images/icons/smile.gif

Edit: Ooops. I got inadvertantly caught by that new naughty word deleter programmed thingy with the **** asterisks. I should have used 5 letters instead of 3 to abbreviate Association ... Assoc.

I would like to learn more about a Hillsboro NW Stealheaders Chapter. I used to be a member of the Mclaughlin Chapter but quite because it was too far away and their meetings always to get in the way of a boaters club I belong to. (I know RT you know what boaters club I am talking about)
If someone would fill me in on a Hillsboro Chapter I would greatly appreciate it.

STZ II,
call or e-mail me. My work # is 503-972-2710 and I will be glad to tell you about our chapter. HEy, before things break loose here is a few weeks, lets see if we can get all the HSBO I Fishers (and anybody else that wants to come)together in some way, shape or form. I'll throw our a few suggestions, How about some evening we meet for a soda or beer. If the count is less than say 12-15 I will volenteer my backyard ( anybody else got room for 12-18 people) or we can meet at some pizza house or better yet, how about McMinniminans road house north of GI (never have it) Joes on cornell. Give me your feedback and we'll see if we can make something happen. Would be nice to meet some new friends and hear some new lies, oh I mean stories. How about Next Thurs night say 6:30 to 8:00, place to be determined. Feedback / comments ???? Hey, let's even invite RT. Sorry it took me so long to make this post, but my daughter was busy and I need her to do the typing fer me. (I like this board)..........Steve

Hey John, Hillsboro fishers do rock! Now if we can only teach them the difference between a rock and a fish ... nah, jk, I've seen Stew catch fish images/icons/rolleyes.gif images/icons/grin.gif . And they all know the fishing regs inside out images/icons/wink.gif - me too. ...

Cool get together idea Steve (Fishbait). The Roadhouse just south of Sunset Hwy. on Cornelius Pass Rd. would be great. Especially if they still sell those 'taste test' sample trays of their custom made beers! Of course you know Stew is a true coniseur of fine beers - I just drink the stuff. So I think I, and probably some others, could use some lessons on the finer points of high quality local brews. Isn't P/H-town getting to be known as the microbrew capital of America, or something like that? Or is it just the northwest? ... Or just in Oregon? ... Or just in my imagination? ...

Enough brew ramble. The area fishers should know that the TV (Tualatin Valley) Chapter of ANWS is one of the best and upcoming chapters with their stick in a lot of fires (I hope that was a proper saying). Since becoming a member there, I have been very impressed with both the fun atmosphere at meetings in Thrillsboro's Legion Hall each month and all the worthwhile fishing related projects that this chapter has been involved in. It would be a great place for more ifishers to become members. E-mail Steve about more info. Meetings resume in September.

Officially, I live in Beaverton but, since I live near Tannasborn I am closer to the Roadhouse than most people from Hillsboro. So, count me in. "I am so there dudes." We should reserve one of the new areas. That would be a great evening event. I could then put a name to the moniker and a face to the name. I don't know what anybody looks like well, except RT who, is such a hamm for the camera and gets put up on TV and internet fishing websites alllll the time. images/icons/grin.gif

Hey Buggle, I look much fatter in pics than in reality. I look 20 lbs. lighter in person images/icons/smile.gif . Same with Stew. Tell 'em big guy. ... As for the Roadhouse, they are just going to have to get used to emu's drinking beer with us ifishers! And they need to know that out near Hillsboro it could get much worse than that! images/icons/shocked.gif ... And Rock Creek Tavern!, that sure brings back some good memories. Yeeehaaaw ..........

Edit: Buggle, I found a recent pic of me without all those layers of fishing clothes that make guys look so much plumper in fish pics. images/icons/grin.gif It was looking west over Tillamook Bay toward 'Crab Harbor' the other day. I don't have any idea why my neck looks so long. The girl in the pic is just another annoying supermodel stalking me images/icons/cool.gif ... images/icons/rolleyes.gif images/icons/wink.gif

OK were on.........
This Thursday. July 26
Cornelius Pass Road House
Lets try for 6:30 to 8:00, that will let the afterwork croud thin out, or we can be part of the after work croud. If the time doesn't work out we can do another one, and if it turns out to be fun we can make it a every quarter get together. Does anybody have any of those stick on name tags, might be nice. And I think we should limit it to people that have bought gear at the wigwam, reached second base at the Hill theater and raced slot cars at the Hobby shop.......Just kidding, everyone is invited. The more the merrier. We need some way to identify the group. Anybody got access to a couple of unique helium baloons or something we could set on the table. Suggestions? See you all there......Steve S

In fact, I've done gone and growed right up thru much of my hair - so actually I'm too tall for my hair images/icons/grin.gif (ok, too short for my weight too). ...

And John, Stew will flop all over the floor for you, even without sticking a hook in him. He invented the "Aligator" dance out in Aloha's 'Cirque Club' teen dance hall back in the day. Or was it at the 'Torque Club' in B-town? And I will jump for you for beer images/icons/smile.gif . Since I've been working out on the high tech weight machines at Bally's I have doubled my jump reach!! ,,, from 1 1/2" to 3" - which enables me to dunk on a Play School kids plastic b-ball hoop images/icons/shocked.gif . ..

Isn't Hillsboro a suburb of Forest Grove? All those places mentioned bring back memories. Wife and I were coming into town and saw the population is over 70,000 now and when we moved there in late 60's, it was almost 13,000. What a change. With all the members, you could circle the city with the boats.

Ok so here is the scoop for this Thursday 6:30 at the Roadhouse Mcmin. on Cornelius Pass. I reserved tables for outside. The only inside seating to reserve is upstairs - very hot in the afternoon. Outside is the way to go. We are between the Imbrie hall and the Road house at the huge sawn log tables otherwise know as the 200 tables. I have reserved for 30 people and will bump that up to 35.

Another note: to reserve for a group almost all establishments tag on the gratuity. In this case it is 17% on all items including adult beverages. I figure we all tip so no big deal. The other issue is that checks will be made out 1 per table so we must check out and break out what we order as individuals. I think this BS is worth it so, we may sit as a group..

There is also live music that evening and we will be in a nice shaded location. I look forward to meeting all of you. See ya there!

ALso to locate the tables just look for RT since we alllll know what he looks like. He will be the one holding a huge glorious bunch of pink Helium balloons. images/icons/grin.gif

huh? Anyway, no way Steve I get to sit across from her or better yet next to her. And since RT is being so generous with buying the beer I think premium Hef' would be good!

Since Banks is to small for its own group I would like to think I am part of the Hillsboro group.

H Y A,
Hillsboro is not that far from Oly, it's kinda like just one more cast...Actually we are about 18 miles west of Portland. IF you show up I personally will buy you a beer. That is the only beer other than mine that I am going to buy, irregardless what the fantom multiple moniker masher says....Fishbait

Dam it Stew, I can not believe you told Buggleboy about my pink helium balloons! images/icons/blush.gif I am keeping them safe for a special occassion - to release into the air when you finally catch a fish. ... That reminds me of a gag I've always wanted to play on some fishermen. Someday I am going to tie one of those bigger heart shaped helium balloons onto about 20 ft. of 12 lb. line and a hook. Then when I land either a strong hatchery buck, or a downstream spawner chinook, on a crowded river such as the Wilson I will stick the hook in it's dorsal fin and let it swim off, towing the balloon past suprised fishermen. I have a lot of good ideas of what to write on the balloon but can't print them here - maybe just "watch this"? ... BTW, are you and 'bait going to do another table dance for us? That was such a hit at the last T.V. Ch. meeting images/icons/grin.gif .

P.S. - Thanks for your efforts to reserve tables B2M. Like 'bait said, you are a stud!

Hey to all,
OK, since I grew up there and went to Hillboro High school, class of '87, does this mean I can come and bring salmon eggs to sell to everyone even if I live in Hebo now. I tried to do my own Hebo roll call and came up a little light on replies. I grew up in that grey area between Hilsboro and Beverton called Aloha. Even though I lived two minutes from Aloha High School I went to HilHi.
I remember Aloha theater, Sunshine pizza, Park lanes, skateworld and fishing the Tualatin for trout or whatever as a kid (I figured no one else owned up to that).

Hey Scott, would be great if you can come. Bring a big ice cooler full of eggs to sell. Put me in for 10 lbs. of raw egg skeins if you do come. I'll bring my cooler in case you do. Thanks. ...

BTW, Scott was nice enough to do an egg curing and fishing tip tech piece for my fall STS column (I did stuff on scents and Kwikfish in it). Must reading. And "Amerman Eggs" are a must fish with!

I will try to make it. I live in Aloha (16 years)but have very few ties to Hillsboro. Figure I could still stop by and be neighborly. images/icons/smile.gif

Thanks to all who asked about the eggs I will see if there is a way to get fresh eggs tomorrow I know I can bring cured. We just got them both of the last two days. So I would say that chances of getting them again tomorrow is slim. I don't like to hold onto the fresh eggs for more than a couple hours. So usually I take pre orders and fill them when the fresh eggs come in. I will get there tomorrow or will send my partner from Forest Grove for anyone wanting cured eggs and fresh eggs if we got them.

Sure Scott, we would love to see you, why don't you bring the old man with you. Lots of fond memories fishing the tualatin as a kid, Used to be some pretty good trout fiahing there. We may have to levy an excise(read pitcher) tax if you sell lots of eggs.

I can't believe this thread made it to 3 pages and there are now three other groups trying to get together, I was just kinda board when I posted the original call for a roll call. Lets hope the momentium keeps up and these things become regular events for all the fine folk and some of the not so fine (IE: the fantom moniker(s))folk here at I Fish .......

Sorry to everyone that was thinking about eggs tonight. I wanted to come and meet all you ifishers, but we have no fresh eggs and I just got a huge order of cured eggs that has to go out first thing in the morning. So I am stuck on the coast again maybe next time. If you are wanting eggs, email me and I can set up an easy way to get them to you.
This sucks! But money is what pays the bills and lets me fish and play with eggs everyday.
