Just looked at the Dam passage it states that 66,000 summer Kings have now gone over Bonneville...what are these fish?? A seperate run? Late Springs? Early Falls? Does anybody know?? Where are they headed? Sheesh...lots of questions eh?

Thanks,

Same question from me. Chinooks are being caught in our summer steelhead hoglines each day. Late springers? Early Falls? Thought the true "summer" chinook were gone!? images/icons/confused.gif

Fishing the Columbia down stream of the Lewis, I've released two chinook in the last 3 weeks that were mint bright, lice carrying and finclipped. Is there a hatchery summer chinook run anywhere? Would be news to me.
Must be early URBs ?????

On june 1 the counts change from springers to summers just the way they count. I would say that these fish are a mix of upriver brights with a few late springers mixed in. Could be a bit of a return of the ole "June Hogs" I know a couple guys who have turned loose a couple of 45lb + fish. 9 more days and then we can keep them images/icons/smile.gif images/icons/smile.gif

From what I understand those fish are summer run salmon and their numbers are on the raise It would be very doubtful that my namesake fish is showing up already

These fish are headed to Idaho. They are raised in a hatchery in McCall released into the salmon. They are having a record run this year and have more fish than they know what to do with. They are not expecting such a great run next year
